Chai tea is often characterized as a rich, spicy tea that blends the exotic spices of the East with milk or cream and a sweetener. Chai is prepared slowly, in order to harvest the rich aromatic properties from the chai spices. Although chai has been consumed for centuries throughout Asia and Africa, variations of the tea exist from one region to the next.
