Sicilian Seasoning Oil

OMG! There are so many great ways to use our Salt-Free Sicilian Seasoning that I decided to make this a freestyle recipe, offering some ideas for how home cooks can stretch their creative culinary wings to create new favorite dishes.
Start with a simple bread dipping oil (pictured), made by adding our Sicilian Seasoning to your olive oil of choice. Garlic Olive Oil, Smoked Olive Wood Smoked Olive Oil, Basil Olive Oil, and unflavored olive oils are all good choices. Gently warm the oil after adding the seasoning to bloom the spices and allow the mixture to sit awhile until the dried herbs and spices in the blend hydrate. Mix in additional flavorings as desired, such as garlic puree, anchovy paste, and/or salt if desired.
Drizzle your sauce on pizzas, cooked eggs, meatballs, and hearty vegetables….or a piping hot grilled steak. Char tomatoes, onions, garlic, or red bell peppers and puree with your Sicilian Seasoning Oil to make a delicious puree that can be spread on bread, with possibly a dollop of olive tapenade on top. Add your favorite herbs like oregano and basil to the puree if you like. Or add a splash of sherry vinegar and maybe some whole mustard seeds to serve as a dressing on peppery or bitter salad greens like arugula, mustard, or chard.
