Jerk Salmon

YIELD: 4 servings       TIME: 20 min     

  

Ingredients: 

  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (~6 oz. each)
  • 2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons Spice Your Life unflavored Olive Oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons Spice Your Life Jerk Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Spice Your Life Smoked Sweet Paprika
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Cilantro, chopped (optional garnish)

 

Instructions:

Preheat your oven’s broiler. Lightly oil a rimmed sheet pan with olive oil.

Place salmon on a cutting board with skin side up. Cut multiple parallel ¼” deep grooves, through the skin and just into the meat, about 1” apart.  

In a medium bowl whisk together 2 tablespoons olive oil, Jerk Seasoning, paprika, and salt (if using). Place salmon fillet into mixture and coat evening, making sure the seasoning gets into all the cut grooves.

Place salmon fillets skin side up onto the sheet pan and broil until the skin is crispy and the flesh is opaque (~10-12 minutes). The salmon should reach 145°F. internal temperature. The exterior will appear slightly blackened so don’t be alarmed. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving if desired.
