Fried Halloumi Cheese with Drizzled Honey and Dukkah

YIELD: 8 servings        PREP TIME: 8 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces Halloumi cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Dukkah Seasoning (from Spice Your Life)
  • ¼ cup honey, warmed

Instructions:

Slice Halloumi into 2 pieces (~3 inch by 4 inch) by slicing the 8 ounce piece in half longitudinally through its width so that each piece is not more than ¾” thick. Cut each resulting piece into 4 pie-shaped pieces by first slicing each piece in half through its width, and then slicing all remaining pieces in half on a diagonal. This will yield 8 pieces. Pat all pieces dry with paper towels.

Heat olive oil over medium high heat in a frying pan. When oil is shimmering, fry Halloumi wedges until golden brown (~2 minutes per side). When both sides are browned, transfer to paper towels to drain.

While still warm, transfer fried cheese wedges to a plate, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle Dukkah Seasoning blend on top. Serve while still warm.

Note:

This dish makes a unique and tasty dessert. Serve with a slightly sweet wine.
