Applesauce with Garam Masala
YIELD: 4 servings PREP TIME: 10 min COOK TIME: 15-30 min
Ingredients:
- 8 medium apples
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1 1/2 cups water
Instructions:
Wash and dry the apples. Then peel, core, and chop the apples. Place in a medium-sized pot and add the water, sugar, and garam masala and stir to blend ingredients. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until apple chunks are soft. Allow to cool. Then mash with a potato masher or blend in a food processor.
Notes:
Spice Your Life’s Garam Masala works very well in this recipe. Because it is a blend of several high quality spices our blend had much more flavor than most Garam Masala blends. You can also substitute a flavorful cinnamon in this recipe if you like.
Store in refrigerator for 7-10 days. Applesauce can also be frozen for longer term storage.
